I stumbled across this wealth of information while hunting for P20 (OSU) seeds. I have a garden in 4a and 5b. 4a is in the Gatineau mountains with limitless water and moraine / mixed forest topsoil on top of my leaching bed and lots of wire. 5b is Kingston region in raised beds and cystern offgrid. I am going to try my hand at building a small earth sheltered greenhouse in 4a this year, and plan to try watercress (any tips?) Oh, btw, I've been hiding out at 5b the last couple of weeks... in 4a 1st week in March we still had waist deep snow and 6-7 foot snowbanks Rachel any members nearby with P20's I'd trade you some nicely aged horse manure ;-)

I have OSU seeds and some crosses from some tomatoes that Canadamike gave me including a cross between OSU blue and Make My Day and possibly a Green Zebra x OSU blue. I garden in zone 4b near Arnprior and would love some horse manure Our property is mostly free of snow which finally is melting fast. We do live in a bit of a snow trap - clearing in the woods which is good for overwintering and water accumulation but a touch annoying to my planting itch! No tips on watercress but I have no doubt that there are others on here who do.

Hi back! Yes I hope to get tips on watercress -- I stumbled across this elixir while trying to find a way to keep my late father hanging on 3 years ago and now the renos are under control and I have new plywood on the roof it is finally time to start some new projects. I used to eat watercress in England -- nice spicy addition to salad or sandwich and just too hard to buy fresh...
Ottawagardener: Arnprior is not much of a detour -- I hope we can meet up soon and I'll bring some manure with me ;-)

Hi Qunuck! Welcome, from just south of the border. I'll post a bit on watercress in the Apiaceae and Brassicaceae section
