Hi, everyone. I'm MawkHawk, aka "Mark". I'm from the Detroit, MI area, zone 6 or so.

I'm an IT consultant with a large technology company and woring in the auto industry.

I've been gardening (as an adult) since 1992 but gardened as a kid with my parents. I come from a long line of farmers going back to the 1700's.

About 50% of what I grow are tomatoes. I also grow squash, greens, onions, spinach, chard, melons, beets, carrots, string beans, peas and cukes. In '08 I'll be trying regular and sweet potatoes, rutabaga and kohlrabi. And I have a little greenhouse where I grow eggplant and a few peppers.

I am a proud member of the "Banned from Tomatoville" club.

My hobbies are gardening, camping, a little astronomy and your usual home improvement stuff.

	Small backyard garden about 3000 sq. ft.. Loam with truckloads of leaves, etc., added over the last 35 years. Last normal frost as late as Memorial Day (2009 - 31.9 degrees 6/1, 33 degrees 6/14). First frost around October 1, but I am at a low elevation (about 50' above sea level) and can have light frosts at inconvenient times. (32 - 9/26/09) I never met a fish I didn't like....
