Berkeley Bowl has two grocery stores in Berkeley. I don't know how much they cost but most everything at BB is reasonable or cheap. Thanks, degzing, I might try getting some... I'll Paypal, if you wouldn't mind sending some.

It probably has the best produce section in the US.

Amazing colors, have wanted to plant some of these tubers with my potatoes, when I find a garden spot. Thank you for the links, keen101, and atash.

Degzing, you have a PM. (With me, Paypal is never necessary...)

peaceseeds.cn offers 5 kinds of oca for $10 but said via Email that they won't have them until December or January.
Please keep the referrals coming.

Owner says it's an oca. He receives plant material from across the world, he does mail these out, but he wont ship to the US. BTW... Ocas are rounder, and mashuas are more oblong?

Not necessarily, I've seen many elongated Ocas...

What's the best way of mailing tubers? I like paper sacks inside priority mail boxes. I don't ship tubers or bulbs in plastic.

Mine were in transit for two weeks in plastic.
A notice said they had been decontaminated with potassium permanganate, but a worm was eating one.

potassium permanganate is a strong oxidizer, not surprising that it hurt them and that the worm lived through it

Just checking in. Anyone interested in providing these plants for cash, Paypal, or barter is requested to message me with their expected harvest dates. I'm located in southern California, US. Thanks for reading.

As a follow up to the discussion about seeds in Sunroots.
I checked the seed heads yesterday...
The clones that I planted contained about 4 mature seeds per head.
The seedpods in the plants grown from seed contained about 40 mature seeds per head.
I had taken some of the seed-grown flowers and rubbed them against some of the cloned flowers. In those seed-heads there were about 10 mature seeds per head. I'm wondering if there is some type of self incompatibility going on with the clone?
The two patches were planted about 60 feet apart, so there could have been some pollen exchange between them. I also grew an isolated patch of clones. I'll try to check them next week.
