Last night a very kind, very talented, very much loved young man in our town was in an accident. He was at the same restaurant as two of our daughters and their boyfriends, they were clowning around and having a good time. Justin and his wife Autumn left for home, and the car in front of them hit a deer. The deer was thrown through Justin's windshield and it hit him. They took him off life support this afternoon, and donated his organs. I just hope his recipients are half as special as he was.

I am sorry as well, plantsnobin. What a gift he has given to multiple people with his organs. He will be in my thoughts.

I didn't know him. But heard about it at work. His aunt works upstairs. I'm glad for the organ donation, too few people do that anymore.
FWIW: Just because you have it on your license, does not mean that it will get done. You're family can override that by saying no. So let your family KNOW that you DO wnat to donate your organs.

I'm so sorry for you loss and the loss of your community. I know no words can make up for this kind of thing, but you will be in my prayers friend.

Weird thing is, this is the second person I know who has been killed by a deer that the car in front of them hit, and then came flying back through the windshield. Several years back a lady who worked at the doctors office and was very active in the 'Crusade for Children' was killed the same way. Now they have a memorial fundraiser in her name for the crusade.
