Hi, I've been doing some research looking for farm tools that I could use...rice threshers, and other equipment like a sorghum mill. I turned these two up. CECOCO does not have a website, so I'm going to write for a catalog. The other one has some great books/disks that I'm going to see if I can get through my library. I wish we had a library of tools/books/cds through Homegrown that could be rented, borrowed, etc. CECOCO, Chug Boeki Goshi Kaisha, P.O. Could easily lose myself in that book list on the village earth web site. Good find.

I hope it's a rainy winter, so I can curl up with some of these. Man, I got lost in old farm implements....

On You tube you can find two series of videos called the Victorian Farm and the Edwardian farm, both are fascinating to see what simple machinery was used and evolved for agricultural and household use. I think there is one set in a walled garden at Chilton called the Victorian Kitchen Garden that I also quite enjoyed.

Nice links and sig line Mike!
I was reading about a simple peanut grinder for use in Africa last year- like 3 concrete pieces, and 2 pieces of thread rod and a nut to fasten- stupidly beautifully easy construction.
I do like bread, but Im going to work a bit more this winter on porridge and soups made with whole grains.

Really wonderful, Thanks! I see my reading/watching schedule is filling up.
Last night we made grits with Carol Deppe's corn. It was pretty darn good! Tonite, corn muffins!
