Longtime farmer and gardener and amateur seed saver, concentrating on keeping varieties going that have been handed down to me from my gardening mentors and neighbors, and adding a few of my favorites.
We're in the Cascade foothills near the Portland watershed, and receive 100+ inches of rainfall per year. Gardening here is an exercise in patience.
I've been reading for a while and now have some time to maybe comment once in awhile. Thanks for such a great forum!

Welcome throwback:
I apply about 12" of irrigation water to my fields during the growing season via sprinkler. We generally get less than an inch of cumulative rain from June through September, and around 15" for the entire year.

Forgot to add that I do dryland gardening except in our hoophouse. We receive all that rain from October to June, then it is dry, dry, dry, until we cut hay
