Although I had no clue about it, a research and development firm has done research on one of our clients growing soya beans.
The results are out now, I am trying to put my hands on the research.
You have to know that in Quebec, farmers get huge tax credits for research, and in fact I know many who would close shop without that money.
Typically, agronomist do the field work and people with PhDs and living in condos in Montreal sign the papers, but they have the diplomas.....despite never having grown a single radish. At least the agronomists are field people....
It infuriates me, but since most of the doctors are teaching in universities, who am I with my practical experience...
Anyway, lil'Michel feels vindicated and has numbers to show to Alan and all the friends doubting his love of seaweed.
All the soya plots were put on a field that had corn the previous year.
CONTROL PLOT: no fertilization : 0.8 ton/acre
PLOT ONE: FERTILIZATION: 1.1 TON/ACRE
PLOT TWO: FERTILIZATION PLUS FOLIAR SEAWEED: 1.6 TON/ACRE
PLOT THREE: FERTILIZATION PLUS FOLIAR SEAWEED AND YUCCA EXTRACT COMBO: 2.2 TONS/ACRE.
Next year, I intend to have the triple threat tested, seaweed plus yucca plus humic acids. And I have a few other cards in my sleeves
Our seaweed is fermented, not burned with potassium hydroxyde, so all the amino acids are intact and ingested by the stomatas, but regular seaweed extract should do most of the job with WAY more frequent sprayings.
All the fertilization in plots 2 and 3 used liquid fertilizers and foliar feeding ( which also has a lot of stuff ending up on the ground) which puts the stuff directly in the plants and is also cheaper...btw
You all know I am organic, but I have to eat too....hey folks, I ended up a month ago, totally by luck, with a farmer who did the same thing in his soya spraying liquid manure( manure tea???) with seaweed and yucca and got the best harvest ever....
BTW, he has a milk fed veal operation, and feeds them a spoonful of yucca extract everyday.
NOthing smells in there. We could all go there, spend a few hours dressed for a wedding and go to town after without smelling.
400 grams of yucca powder per ton of animal feed make the animals digest their proteins better, produce less amonia and manure.
They fatten faster or give more milk since the proteins ingested are better digested.
Go to
greenplantfuel.com/ for the cheapest yucca extract. And it is food grade, so if you need to eat more or have a kid with anemia or eating disorder, a spoonful a day should help a lot. Google it , there are some good researches on it, but you got to go a few pages down to see true university stuff, including on sheeps...
