Thank you all. I acvtually had an unusally good one (by my standards). Not a lot of seed finds (I got a few more of the eating type of job's tears that the huller had missed). But I dig unusually well at the Japanese used bookstore I vist on Wensdays. Got 3-4 books I was looking for and did not have, including one that finally completes a set of mine (and it always feels extra good to finally be able to slot that last book into place on a shelf.)

Happy Birthday! enjoy that old book smell! I would but all of the books I found are 1. not really all that old by normal standards ( the oldest are probably 30 years old, which is ancient by Japanese chidren's book standards, but not all that old in strict years) and 2. are printed on glossy paper, which simply does not get that wonderful smell of aged standard wood pulp stock (and certainly not the special aroma of aged rag paper).
