Just my luck - two days AFTER the initial warranty period, the A/C decides to conk out! Since I have multiple lung problems I find it VERY hard to breathe when it's hot and humid, even with my home oxygen! It ONLY cost $388.00 for parts and labor (two parts - capacitor and contactor) Good thing the garden is starting to produce, because groceries for the next month are gonna be SLIM!!!!!! At least I can breathe.....

My heat pump broke down about two months ago and i replaced it with a new one.$1800 dollars. It a better unit than i had as they are more energy efficient now as my old heat pump was 10 years old. I was going to have to spend $1200 on my old one so i figger to upgrade when it broke. I hope you get your air condition fixed soon oldgaredneck as i know how much it keep you from enjpying your garden if you cannot cool off under the a/c.

oldgaredneck,
Sorry to hear about the air conditioning. Those unexpected bills can really destroy the budget. Glad you were able to get it fixed. Air conditioning is definitely a necessity these days.
