Yep, it's forecast for most of the northeast. I sold some Christmas items today, but mostly I sold shovels, salt and woodstove supplies. Stay safe and warm everyone.

We've had such a bad drought this year even snow would be a welcome sight; while were not likely to get that northern white stuff it did start raining this afternoon and it's still raining!!!
I was amazed to see water standing in the road on my way to town and actually got excited about using the windshield wipers for the first time in months.

CFF, That's wonderful!!! I noticed that you had replied to Clarkbar's thread and I was wondering if you were going to ask for care packages of snow for Christmas?? But hopefully, you won't require them. It might be a good Christmas afterall.

It is wonderful and it's still raining; a week of this would have me about as happy as a lose dog in a meat shop

I hope we get all snow, even if its 2 ft. Last thing we need is more ice. My road was closed for 6 hrs the other day. Seems 2 semis jack-knifed on the hill. In fact, the other 2 rds that go uphill were also closed.

Yeah - we had a bad ice storm overnight - Not sure we're going anywhere today. Although, it was 70 degrees here on Wednesday. Man, Virginia has stupid weather! Glad to hear you're getting some rain, Hayne.

It's big flakes mixed with chunky stuff here. First plow just went down the highway. I don't think they are figuring that many folks will be attempting to go out today?!
I was hoping to attend a seed saving group meeting this afternoon, but I imagine it's been cancelled.
Looks like I'll spend my birthday wrapping Christmas gifts and decorating the house. Teach me to wish for snow. DUH

Andy, I really hope you did call in to work. The roads could not have been any better in your area. We got prob like 14 in. But really windy, so drifts up to 3 ft in places. Schools are delayed but not cancelled. Way too early for another snow day. They need 2 just for March and they only get 5.

Actually, the main roads weren't too bad, the main ones, that is. By the time I was about to call off, they had them pretty well cleared and salted, so I didn't have much trouble, though we lost power at the house twice yesterday!
