Okay - Not trying to start anything up, because I DON'T CARE about the feud thingy, but I need help from someone who is a member of Tomatoville. For some reason, I can no longer access the site, and there was a step-by-step posted on there for some birdseed wreaths that I'd like to get. If I remember correctly, Rena started the thread. For sure I posted a reply, so if you have trouble finding it, look for my last post.
Thanks in advance - I wanted this recipe for during the kids' winter break. Which is now...

Let me see if I can access it. Nope, I just get a blank page. Could be their server or something.

Maybe we're banned? Ooooh! I've never been banned from a website - it's a totally different feeling than being banned from a bar! Hahahahahahaha! Just kidding... far as I know, I haven't done anything to piss off the T'ville folks. On the other hand, I have been kicked out of a few joints in my day...

Very Cool! Thanks for mentioning this. I saved the instructions, cuz I'm guilty of buying the expensive readymades in the past for gifts. Anyone who buys 400 lbs of birdseed every two weeks, should be able to make their own, lol

Bunkie - thanks for pming me the info. If anyone wants it here it is:
1 1/2 cups boiling water 3tbls cold water 7 1/2 cups birdseed (use more sunflower then corn) 4 packs of knox gelatin (we bought the big pack at Super Walmart) Silicone baking bunt pan (5.00 at Tj max or Ross) (an optional pack of knox to spray wreath after unmolding)
In a small bowl mix 3tbls of cold water with the gelatin. Let it sit (about 2-3 minutes) Add the cups of birdseed in a large mixing bowl. Add boiling water to cold gelatin mix and let it sit about 3 more minutes. Pour gelatin over birdseed mix and stir, let it sit a few seconds and keep folding the mix from the bottom until it looks like the gelatin is no longer or barely pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Spoon it into the silicone baking pan. I like to lift the pan and let it drop on the table a few times shaking the seeds and packing it in. leave it in the fridge overnight. The next day I like to mix up in a small sprayer (this is optional) one pack of the knox done the same way as above-(1/4 of the water). I unmold over the trashcan and spray the wreath with it lightly all over. This really keeps the seed from coming off so easy. Set in a place to dry. note: at the bottom of the mold you may have what looks like a small pool of jello, do not worry this will dry clear after it has had some time to cure in a dry place. When it no longer feels sticky its ready to slap a raffia bow on and some twine for hanging.

You can also just mix the birdseed with melted vegetable shortening. I don't use any type of gelatin since it may contain pork.

Take some pics! The birds are really enjoying them and the kids love seeing them come up close to the house to eat!

Use them? Geez, I haven't even unpacked them from my Christmas stocking, lol
Birdseed goes on sale tomorrow. I'll try to remember to pick up a small bag to practice with. I'll post pics when I get them done. Mebbe Sunday?
