What bush bean do you think is best for later summer planting? I am out of beans and spinach seed for later plantings and have to order more sometime this summer. I hate when I don't have enough seed for the whole season!

are you growing them for snap beans? or for shellies?
If for snaps, then Venture bush bean has historically been very hard to beat. There are also quite a few named fall beans available through Sandhill, heirlooms.org, and other sellers.
For shellies, just about any of the "october" beans will work.

The flavor was excellent and some people said it was the best green bean that they had ever eaten. Yield was great and starting producing in 53 to 55 days. David

Minnie, I use Roma's in the Fall. The flat beans really take the late summer heat. I like Marvel of Venice as it's easy to spot when picking. Sandhill has some great beans.

I trial other bush green beans but always end up using Provider, it cannot be stopped.

I was thinking about growing fava beans as a fall crop this year.

I generally go with Provider for green bush. I also put in a bunch of other haricot vert and gold varieties and Rattlesnake pole. The seed didn't go as far as expected. Plus I wasted my first 2 rows trying it too early. Oh well.

Ah Sandhill I forget they don't have large seed packets.
