I just bought one of these, and it arrived today www.ebay.com/itm/5-WHITE-CHERRY-ANATOLIAN-SEEDS-PLUS-ONE-PLANT-10-INCHES-FRUIT-TREE-/270950977811?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f15efd113Has anyone else grown one of these, becuase I have a few questions, the main one being, is this the same species as a normal domestic cherry. As you will note, the auction was for both a tree sapling and some pits (I though that was the best idea, a tree to give me a headstart, plus some pits I could put into storage as insurance should the tree not take) the tree looks much like most cherry trees I have seen. The pits do not. They are very oddly shaped, almost angular and much smaller than most domestic cherry pits I have encountered. So if anyone has grown this, do you happen to know if this is nomal for pits of this variety.

Looks interesting; maybe good to avoid predation, but I would suppose of less nutritive value due to lack of pigmented compounds. Keep us posted, please.

Hmm, are white (actual colour is pale yellow to yellow) cherries unknown in your area? They are not so common here too, but not unknown, I know dozens of trees, but most probably the varieties are no more than 2-3. They are sweeter than the red ones, but I would say the flavour is not as rich, but I would not say bland. I have noticed the maggots prefer them much more than the red ones. I think they are ripening now, so I may be able to get some pics... and pits too if someone is interested. Their size is a bit smaller than most red varieties, but I know there are some pretty large white cherry varieties too.
