For those who don't know..
Miss Michigan won the title; Miss Indiana was 2nd and Miss Washington was 3rd...
I bet that several of the members here would agree that Beautiful people come from MI, IN and WA.... ;D
But what I thought was really neat was that Miss Michigan's Granny was a contestant in the Miss Michigan contest in 1944. Bet her Grandmother is proud of her.
I don't agree with pushing kids to do this and I don't like it when 'stage mother' types involve pre-teens in this type of pageant. But pageants do provide incentive to look good and succeed in life. And scholarships and good prizes for those who win.

I was screaming last night...Miss Michigan wasn't my first pick but I'm glad to see my state win...I hope she finds a way to positively contribute. LAst years miss America did a lot with Childrens Miracle Network.

I just don't think this kind of thing is right, I have 3 pretty daughters, and I never would have let them enter anything of this sort. Even the little 4-H kind of stuff, and the baby contests drive me nuts. To judge someone on their looks, seriously??? Come on, IT JUST AIN"T RIGHT!!! Of course, this in just the opinion of one person from IN who doesn't see a pretty face when she looks in the mirror. Didn't mean to be offensive, but these contests are something that have always bothered me.

I just take it as it is. It's not a serious thing to me. The thing that I like about the more modern contests is that they are looking for more than Barbie and big t!ts.
For the record my wife is the only beauty queen in my life. She's 7+ months pregnant and the preatiest I've ever seen her..
