We have a small tractor. It's a Kubota L2250, only 26.5 hp. I was wondering if one of the balers with its own motor would be a good choice for us. I've read the Amish use these and have the horses pull them. We only need about 300 square bales a yr. Anyone have any experience with these balers? What would be the minimum hp to run the baler that makes the small 35 lb bales? I am really tired of raking and storing loose hay. but the field still needs to be cut, so I am not gonna waste it.
The baler we saw listed is a Ford w/ a wisconsin engine. Thanks

I went to look at the baler the other day. It looked good to me, especially for only $300. We are picking it up tomorrow. Even if it needs some work, I think it's worth it.

We went down, put gas in the engine and it cranked right over. SOLD! Now I just gotta hunt down a rake and we'll be all set.
