"Breeder" is an entertaining plant breeding game,(for long winter night ;D ) that puts you in the position of the breeder that has to make selection with a limited amount of resources. Can you obtain the tallest plants with the right color ? What cross should you make in the end? The engine of the game is a realistic (Mendelian) genetic model with linkage and recombination, topped off with some random noise. dowload here www.plantbreeding.wur.nl/NL/software_kwekersspel.html#English

Looks like it might be entertaining. Pity it's not for Macs.

Yeah, what Raymundo said....
And, I'm a lousy plant breeder. I worry endlessly over selection. It keeps me up at night, because I have to wait a whole year to see what transpired.

Grow fruit and nut trees. It can take you 15 years (or more) to see the results of your efforts. Then you realize how you screwed up...

I don't worry about messing up with selection. I'd rather make a mistake now when it doesn't mean starving to death than later when it might. That way I'll be less likely to make the same mistake when it counts.
