So, there we were, peeling away with our $20 Chinese-made apple peeler, when the handle broke. I figure we were probably on our 5th or 6th bushel of apples (over three years of owning this thing, not just this year) which means that the per-bushel cost is somewhat vexing. Hell, we only paid $4 per bushel for apples last year, which means the amortized cost of the damn apple peeler doubled it!
My question: does anyone know a source of good-quality apple peelers? All I ever see is the same basic model as what we had. (Have. Edwin is going to try to see if the handle can be welded back together, but who knows.) We would be willing to pay quite a bit more if we thought it was the last apple peeler we would ever have to buy.
For preference, the source should be Canadian, or at least willing to ship.
