Their web site is mostly full of links that don't work or are a decade stale. Why would I pay them?

No, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the link Dar. Now my own plug... I'm a member of CNGA - the California Native Grass Association and I'm working on permanent forbs/grass strips that benefit beneficial insects and that I can graze chickens on. If you happened to view the new Ken Burns documentary "Dust Bowl", you might be feeling a renewed appreciation for the important ecological services that intact prairies and grasslands can provide. Yes you can watch it online! www.pbs.org/kenburns/dustbowl/After viewing 4 hours of sobering film footage about a past ecological disaster, here is a link to an innovative project currently being conducted in Iowa that is testing the potential benefits of planting native grass and forbs into mixed "prairie strips" within a farmer's row crops, to improve biodiversity within a farming system. www.leopold.iastate.edu/news/on-the-ground/testing-trio-prairie-strips-row-crops-and-birdsYeah, I know, this is supposed to be about nuts, but you know me Dar, just lead me down the prairie path to nutland....

I have been a yearly member since about 1991. Is this how you got so much variety? I joined when I got interested in chestnuts. Most of my chestnut germplasm I found on my own, but certainly not all of it. There are many members who are experts in all sorts of nut crops, but there are many members of NNGA who are experts in other areas also. It's not limited to nuts or to the north. One of my favorite people in the whole world is an NNGA member who is an entomologist.
