My leeks are flowering. So is the ruderal elephant garlic next the the train line. Since they are both A.ampeloprasum, are hybrids possible? (thinks, big leeky bulbs, or garlic flavoured leeks...) T

Most definitely! A chap here grows elephant garlic to use as leeks. He doesn't bother with any other kind of leek these days, just replants bulbs for more leeks. I've let mine go to seed and I'll incorporate some of it in my leek mix.

Great, the flower head is going straight into a jar of water and into the allium bed. T
