Does anyone grow this? The Doyles live about an hour from here, so I am sure it will grow well for me. Trouble is, I don't like blackberries, so I can't tell if one tastes 'good' or not. I am thinking about getting a couple of these, but they are $15 each for small tissue cultured plants. The website was having some problems, so I will have to call this week. Any opinions on this variety? Thanks, Karen

I ordered 2 plants, they arrived in Canada dead. They sent me 2 more, they forgot to grow. The following spring, my wife thought they were small woody weeds....you figure out the rest. I have exchanged with people who told me the harvest claim is real, but they are apparently not that sweet, less so than others. And since ''others'' means far less sweet than the wild ones we get here, I won't bother anymore.

Try Chester Thornless, juice large berries and by year 3, loaded. Val

We have Arapahoe and something else. Arapahoe has been in ground for 2 or 3 years now. The "something else" just went in. Last year I pulled 3 cane sprouts from the forest margin and replanted them along our driveway. They have buds already! I've always wondered if the thornless could compare with the thorny in flavor.

::smiles:: That wee little fellow turned 9 years old on the 5th of this month. You better believe I treasure every minute of everyday with him and his little brother who turned 7 on the 1st of the month. They have a 28 year old sister as well. You are so right about the speed with which time passes. The Facebook link wouldn't let me see, I'm not a subscriber to their service, that may be why. trulythankful.typepad.com/photos/tommy_turns_7_april_1_200/index.html This takes you to a photo album on my blog that has pictures from the little ones birthday party. This one will still come to crawl between the sheets with us especially on really cold mornings.
