Saw an ad in one of the Toronto papers about a ban on movement of firewood due to the discovery of Emerald Ash Borer in the city.

This is a new pest for this part of the world, but I see that many states have been affected in the past 5 years. Windsor, Ontario region has been affected now for a few years as well...Now why didn't Customs notice them crossing the border??
Anyone here been directly affected by the damage this pest does to ash trees?
