Really??, right then, got plenty of flowers on other bushes to try em, the misses hates when i add flowers to salads, but i get around that by cutting them up so small she cant lift them out.

That might defeat the intent; try a petal; get her to try one; they're not so much flavorful, but sweet; think also fruit salad or sprinkled on ice cream. Hell, sprinkle a handful on her and lick them off!

I certainly hope so. She may want you to increase your plantings; couldn't hurt.
As I've posted before: if we're not having fun, what's the point?

Then when you see the wax-eyes and sparrows munching on the petals; it's no big deal, 'cos I hear that's what is spreading the pollen around. Maybe BertieFox and 12540dumont needs some bird-life around at flowering time ? Half my feijoa seedlings from last year got frazzled in this summer's dry; Hoping for a lucky seedling with the flavour of the parent but not such a chunky skin.

The guy who sold us a used tractor bitched about having planted an acre of feijoas before learning that they aren't "ripe" until they fall of their own accord; agriculture can be complicated (tree-ripened pears, bananas, and avocados come to mind).
