I just came into a copy of "Sicko", by Michael Moore; hadn't seen it since way back when; I must say I am re-outraged. It seems to me that the abysmal picture it paints of healthcare in the USA is mirrored in agricultural policies. I would frame that as "Are you producing a fungible commodity for industrial use/profit? If so, here's a subsidy. If not, fuck you; who cares that you may be feeding people, instead of generating corporate profits?".
I am disgruntled that the vast populace of my country is so ignorant/apathetic/fearful that it isn't in confrontational rebellion against the oppression of the corporatocracy (Oh! Could that be Fascism?), whether industrial, medical, or AGRICULTURAL. Do I think that small farms are a more stable basis for feeding populations than enormous corporate agro-factories? Hell, even my spell-check doesn't recognize "corporatocracy" or "agro-factories" as legitimate.
It's better to be pissed off, than to be pissed on!
Happy Thankskunnah, to those of the appropriate inclinations; celebrations of familial/communitarial connectivity are of great value. In modern life, we are too easily estranged from one-another, to our, potentially, great loss. We are One Life, imperiled by denial of that fact.
Be well, and plant your seeds!

Happy Thankskunnah to you too! can't plant my seeds though, they'd freeze to death. Maybe knit some little hats and mittens for them? Sorry that I can't really comment on the rest of that, my wittle teenage bwain can barely handle it. Although I do understand that it's about gov generally screwing people to get a profit.

Plant your seeds when appropriate, dammit! The ecosystem depends on your doing so, else we become as controlled as factory-farmed fowl, and as regularly harvested.

Well that's one of my personal freedoms that I'll be keeping for sure! I couldn't imagine life without seeds!

Steev, I'm disgruntled about the way the whole farming thing is going. There's enough cracy out there to choke a chicken. I really can't pay one more person another fee to keep farming. I just want to be left alone with my seeds and my farm. I don't really need anyone to tell me how to farm, what to farm and how to safely farm it. Really, just butt out and let me get on with it.
I went to the doctor, it was an exercise in frustration. I had something in my eye. They said I didn't and sent me home. Well, a few days later, by the time my eye was oozing, they finally figured out that I had SOMETHING in my eye that wasn't my eyeball. Urrrr! And then the pharmacy didn't have the drops to put in my eye that the doctor ordered. By the time I was done, I really felt like a sheep. I even started to Baah while waiting in line.
My Thursday was lovely. Thankskunnah! One of our customers invited us to her house! Now aint that nice? And it was yummy! I made 2 pies to bring, one pumpkin and one blueberry.
So if it never rains, you won't take a rain day and we'll never see you. I guess I better go to the post office and send you something to cheer you up. How about some seeds?

Holly: Rain or not, I'll not work (for money) 12/21 thru 1/01, so save your postage for a rainy day. I'll fall by sometime in there; I'll let you know so we can synchronize (unless you've booked a cruise to Bali during that time).
