I'm Sam. My wife and I are micro farmers by day and I'm beginning a midlife career as an author by night. We live in NW Georgia and raise a wide variety of fruit and veg. We also raise livestock for meat and dairy. I'm an avid aquaponics gardener in addition to our more traditional gardens. We've dabbled in market gardening for the last two years but are expanding that part of our operation this year and will even introduce a small CSA. We love to hunt and fish. I ran sled dogs for 30 years, but down here in the south, we keep Mastiffs. I'm looking forward to listening and learning and, eventually, participating. I will most likely lurk for a couple weeks before jumping in. I found the board by accident while looking for reviews of 'Heinz classic heirloom tomatoes." I'm going to try a few of those this year and see how they do.

A very big WELCOME Sam. I hope you learn what you need here and add your own voice. We are a bunch of friendly and helpful people so please ask questions or add your opinions as you like.

From sled dogs to Georgia, wow! Sounds like a pretty steep learning curve; should keep you mentally fit better than sudoku.

When I lived in the states, I lived in Georgia and loved it. Wish I could have spent more time there.
