Some years ago I found these beans in my garden, they appeared among others. I always thought this is a Lima Bean. The only Lima variety I was able to grow was Speckled Dixie Butterpea a bush type, this is a pole type. I don`t have pictures of the pods, but they are long and nearly round but with a little of the shape of a pea pod. The pods are edible. I heard Lima Beans have inedible pods. So I think it is more a "normal" Ph. vulgaris... What do you think? Can you judge only from these pictures? this is from 2012 and 2013 not a good quality, sorry for that!

Not a lima, if it were, you would not be eating the pods.
It appears to be a flattened ordinary bean P. Vulgaris.
