Well, if you can't find any shmoos (shmoon?) you can always check the British sites to see if anyone has any wompoms to spare (and those CAN be made into alcohol) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivf4w3r-_3c

Well who knew? I'll take one of each. You never know when you need to ferment. Leo made Kimchi today. We had such a plethora of radishes! But alas, not much protein in a radish. And they don't taste like steak or chicken.

Just be careful who you procure your seed from, and that you know waht it is supposed to look like. A few years ago, a fried of mine placed an order with a Russian fellow who claimed to have procured a supply of Gromline's Cosmic Bean* However when the package arrived, rather than beans, there were these tiny floaty seeds which when he planted them grew into these bizarre gigantic plants with these huge bulbs with three little sticks on them, and these big bells with whip like coils inside. Actually I think the stress of dissapointment at being swindeled has affected his mind He claims that he has seen the sticks on the plants move of thier own accord and even that the plants are moving around his garden to places he did not put them, but that of course is wholly impossible. Funny thing though, he hasn't answered any of my phone calls for a while............ * www.forgottenbooks.org/readbook_text/The_Clocks_of_Rondaine_and_Other_Stories_1000436989/145
