Last year I left some overwintered scallions stick around to save seed which I did. And then I never pulled them out. Are they good for anything this year? There are baby volunteer scallions around them which is nice. And the killdeer nest is there.

I suppose that the scallions will make seed again this summer. They are currently edible. Rather than till over my volunteer scallions I delay tilling for a few weeks. Then I harvest them for the farmer's market. They are always much further along than the spring planted scallions.
