covering broccoli

I am finally planting my broccoli and cabbage tomorrow. I wonder if I should skip the row cover and move right to the shade fabric. I have to do something to keep deer away. Do you think they will grow slower this month with the shade cloth?


I started moving the rebar and hoops from the broccoli last year area to the new area but I wore out before I was done.

I went with row cover. It is so cold and cloudy. I haven't even had shorts on yet!'

Broccoli beds. I was too sore to pull out and hammer in the rebar for the bigger hoops so I put in wire hoops and used the rest of my new FRC 7' wide.
