Who has luck with Napa cabbage all season? I am debating starting more seed. This has been my first year growing it, and it looks like all I'll be getting is seed increase, but for what it's worth, it seems that cold can trigger it to bolt. Seems to be what happened to mine. I know you grow for market, but if you have the space, I'd try a few and see what they do.

Some brassicas seem really sensitive to stress (hot, cold, dry). We have Spring temperature swings that make it impossible for me to get them to any size before they bolt. :<(

Pretty much asian greens are not doable in summer. Between rapid bolting, heat stress and flea beetles the few plant that survive are totally unsaleable.

I can grow some varieties almost year round. Aichi is the best through the summer. But, our summers are nothing like continental summers.
