Today I cleared one of the overgrown beds. This bed is next. This is the pineapple top that I am rooting and tiring to grow out.

Well I could not figure out how to get the picture URL off Instagram using internet explorer. So I just downloaded Firefox. Oldmobie I did try that host site and liked it. I might use that site in the future. For now I think I will continue to use Instagram because I have my other pictures on there. I will probably end up switching to your site so I don't have to get out the laptop with every picture but we will see. Thanks again for the help. I guess I'm learning as much about computers as I am about gardening on here. Now know how my mom feels when it comes to cell phones lol. This is supposed to be another way. It probably just does what Joseph suggests without needing to do more than copy paste and press a button. Images are looking great now.

Also a bit of code that you don't need. It's for html (website language), not bbcode (forum language). It can be made to work by replacing < and > with [ and ].

Saw the first watermelons and cantaloupe today cantaloupe watermelons What is wrong with the cantaloupe? It has some discoloration on the vine. Here is a picture. Is it a mildew of some sort? It has been really humid but dry for the most part. We did have a thunder storm on Saturday but it only rained enough to get the streets wet. everything was dry a half hour after it stopped. One more picture. this is of the garlic scapes. They are ready to pop open. Thanks in advance for any help with the cantaloupe everyone.

I also picked over a pound of green beans. They were part of dinner tonight and very tasty. We cooked them in a little olive oil with salt, pepper, and garlic.
The garlic opened today. It is very interesting to watch things grow. I am very grateful for the opportunity to do so.
Have a great night all.

Yes they are our favorite! When we bought the house it was winter and they were a wonderful surprise that first summer. I hope to create a flower bed in the future with other lilies and the such. I would also have asparagus, berry bushes and fruit trees but right now we are in a starter home that we hope to move from in a year or two. We don't plan on moving again after that so it will be garden on. Right now I even feel a little crazy making the garden so permanent. If I had it my way I would have acres of gardens to fill my days with. I hopefully our next house will have a half acre or more. Only time will tell. Thank you for the wonderful comment it has made my day.

Temps tomorrow should be in the 70s so I plan on doing a lot in the garden. Hopefully I can sow a few more things and weed all the beds to a manageable state. I might tackle all the weeds in the path too.

Well I didn't get as much done as I wanted. Cleared only half the weeds by the cabbage. I did sow more kohlrabi, lettuce, and basil. Here are a few pics. This is the bed that I planted today. The little rocks on the left mark where the rows are. The first three rows at the top are kohlrabi, middle three are lettuce, and the last three are basil. This is the bed I weeded today. I have pretty much ignored this area so far this season. I transplanted several poorly started cabbage early in the year and they all failed. So then I direct seeded cabbage shortly after. Only three of those came up, one of which was weeks later. They are slowly growing and all the weeds haven't helped. The soil in that area of the garden seems to be pure clay. It felt like I was trying to hoe a drive way. I also started to mulch the cabbages that are free. There is one more cabbage in all that crabgrass also.
