Hi,
i would like to cross several plant databases to create some knowledge to start somebreeding projects,
do you know any databases/sites (preferable downloable, but thats would be too good) that displays this kind of data :
* Scientific name * Hardiness USDA/range * Annual/biennal/perennial status * on a worldwide scale preferably
I know that PFAF (http://pfaf.org) has this kind of information, but i would like to "hybridize" PFAF database with another one to generate potential wide crosses between annual edibles and perennial relatives for a given USDA zone. It is not easy to find a database that as the info on perenniality.
thanks to all

thanks trixtrax for your links,
i finally get something from the USDA plant database, by saving results of queries with different lifespan (perennial, etc). This is a start but it is only for US species. I need to expand it worlwide to not miss a lot of plants.
I also need a database/tree of the orders to link relatives that are not of the same specy

I really like the idea of a database containing species pairs that are known to be hybridizable.
