noticed this yellowing on some leaves of my leeks, concerned it may be a virus called yellow streak virus

Stillman, did a bit of reading last night, and YSV has been isolated in Australia, from garlic. So could be. Keep a close eye on it. You've got a number of options - pull it and burn it, keep an eye on it and see if it develops further. If you need some perennial leeks, let me know later in the season. I think Jerry Colby-Williams occasionally distributes clones of a great perennial leek on his open days in Brisvegas. Check his website. He does reply to emails, as well. Will look into it Templeton I had some European growers tell me it was probably not a virus but another say it could be a minor virus that seems to run its course in young seedlings??. These are grown from seed its strange if it was a virus as its a new garden? Weird.

Just checked my garlic and leeks. The leeks are fine, but there is a bit of mottling on the garlic. Hmmmm, T

I get a lot of that mottling on my garlic while they are smaller but then this time of year when they are powering on and growing well it goes away.
