Hi all, I just got some tzimbalo (Solanum caripense) seedlings. I read that the fruit is edible but more seed and juice rather than meaty like Pepino. Has anyone tried the fruit? is it better for juicing than eating as is? I thought I might do a little crossing of this plant with my pepinos just for interests sake.

Interesting; never heard of it before. It could grow in the East Bay, but wouldn't have a snowball's chance on the farm, unless green-housed. Something to keep in mind, if I ever get a green-house with excess space (prolly happen right after Hell freezes over, but I do hope to see that}.
