A quick post on my spring growouts. I've continued with two purple snow lines - a semi dwarf determinate double flowered disease resistant line, and a tall, single flowered, non-resistant big podded line. The semi dwarfs were grown out in my greenhouse over winter, the talls in the open garden. I took a few pods around to my favourite fodie restaurant, and the chef was very interested. A couple of days ago I visited a micro herb business in town (B&B Basil, a regional town success story of which Bendigo is mightily proud)- I had been tipped off that the owner could put me onto some vacant land with a water right, which I need if I want to grow out a decent quantity of seed. To show him what I was growing, I took some pods of the tall in to taste. He was blown away. His first question was "How much seed can you supply to me?" This guy is a delightful gentleman, so enthusiastic about his business that he spent 3/4 of an hour showing me around his whole setup. Anyway, that's another whole thread. some pics of the growouts. Both look spectacular, T. I love the name, too, being a big Joni fan myself.
