My hope with this thread is that we can do our own community seed swap with the Homegrown Goodness community. We can list what we have and what we want. I figured we would just PM each other to set up the trade/request.

In radishes I can offer you small amounts of cherry belle and sparkler mixed together, champion, easter egg mix, pink beauty, white hailstone and white icicle. In squash / pumpkins I can offer a few landrace moschata (Joseph's), a few of my own saved Waltham's butternut, and assorted pumpkin (my son scooped up seeds after his science class competed pumpkin catapults). I also have some seeds for a yellow slicer tomato my wife really likes. I'm already planning to send you seeds from jalapeño and hot banana peppers I grew together.
Let me know which seeds you do or don't want and I'll get these out to you. (I have your address.)

I'll take any radish seeds you would like to send. As long as the squash would make good pumpkin pie and such I'll try them. Anything I have that you would like? I know I already sent you a few things but anything else?

I know I already sent you a few things but anything else? I'd like some french breakfast radish. I also could use more variety in tomatoes. My wife and my dad both like slicers. He favors red, large fruits. (I already have beefsteak.) She likes them all, but especially the yellow. I only eat them cooked, so I favor fruits that can hold onto a little texture. Surprise me. But keep it fair to yourself, I noticed you had small quantities of some seeds. Just toss me a couple things, I don't need to clean you out. Butternuts make a suitable replacement for pumpkin in baking. I think that's true of all moschata (butternut is a moschata), but I have no experience beyond butternut. They will be "pumpkin-like", some more so & some less so. Joseph selects for more orange colored, dryer flesh. Probably a good strategy for future pumpkin pies. But even the poorest ripe butternut has produced admirable pumpkin bread for me.

Let me look, I think I still have enough of my Yellow Coyote to share. Tornado took out the three plants I put in this year I don't have the red one, though, and that may be the one for which you are looking...I have basil seed, but I grew about seven kinds (varying flavors) so it's definitely going to be landrace-y!

My wife favors red tomatoes as well and I only eat a few each season in a BLT or two. I'll take a few butternut seeds as well and try my hand at selecting. That tends to be my problem I try to give everything a chance or three and hate to waste seeds.

Thanks for the offer but I think I will pass on the basil. I have plenty of basil seeds and we only need a few plants a year. I will take you up on Yellow Coyote. Only need a few seeds(3-4) for one or two plants. Anything you want for them?

Libby's Pumpkin is made from moschata squash. I think that most commercial pumpkin products are made with moschatas. I cringe often at the farmer's market when I see someone buying a pepo jack-o-lantern telling the guy in the next booth that they want to make a pumpkin pie... As far as I am concerned any moschata or maxima would make a better pie than a jack-o-lantern.

You sent me stupice & snow peas with the garlic. Maybe one other thing, but not another tomato. (I'd check, but I'm not at home right now.)

I've got plenty of Musquee de Provence seeds (possibly crossed with butternut) and a lot of beans. As for bean varieties and anything else that I might have, I'd have to look.

I'll try to put together proper "have:" and "want:" lists later. Could you use anything I've mentioned so far?

How many Musquee seeds would you like? I'll get my lists up later also.
