Looking for cultivars that have this characteristic for no good reason. I suspect dark rooted ones are more likely to express this trait and I do rather like dark rooted carrots.

ottawagardener , I think they rolled out their new listings before their stock was ready to ship (they all show like that), so I'd check again in a month or two.

Nifty! What a neat umbel, with the purple and white two tone effect (not to mention the dark color of those roots). This could catch on!

I have pink/dark flowers in my landrace. Not sure which varieties had them, probably the blacks and lavenders. There were purple stems too.

Plants of Distinction in the UK have a wild carrot/Queen Anne's Lace offering "Daucus Carota Dara" with a purple/red flower head. I know they ship overseas.
