I have several young bradfords. Ugh. My neighbor has yummy pears. Might it be possible to graft in some food? Just cut off the bradford at 4 footish, and graft in 4 twigs or buds? What do ya'll think?

definitely works. when you say cut it at 4' and graft, that's one option, rind grafting the scion onto the stump. you could also cut it back and give it season to regrow and then whip and tongue or bud graft onto those. really depends on what grafts you're comfortable with. pears are really forgiving though, so i suppose it's a good chance to get some practice in...

I am not comfortable with any grating. Nothing so far has taken for me, but I was hurried in past attempts.
