Are you talking about dolichos lablab? If it is the case, they are edible. I grew some one year, tried them a bit, and ended up thinking they compost very well!!!! I maybe need a recipe. LOL
I can't see how they would cross with regular beans , a totally different species. I tried with my dog and my goldfish and it didn't work either LOL

Dolichos lablab is edible, but I don't know of any other species that would cross with it.
