I'm scheduled to make a business trip to Mexico City. Does anyone have recommendations of things I should see or do while there? Teotihaucan is on my agenda already.

You will enjoy the pyramids. As a grower you might like Xochimilco, sort of a floating garden and market with canals and trajinera boats, and a nursery. It translates to “Place for the sowing of flowers”. I remember buying a bag of pastries there for the equivalent of 50 cents.
Just south of Mexico City in Coyoacan is muralist Diego Rivera's museum the Anahuacalli that houses a huge collection of pre-Hispanic pieces, and it's pretty interesting architecturally. As I recall there were some nice rock inlays of serpents on the walks outside. His wife artist Frida Kahlo's house Casa Azul is also there. It was a sweet laid back town with a wonderful open market of produce, and some artisan shops where I once bought a lovely area rug about 30 years ago.
In the City proper, the national cathedral, which is sinking into the ground, is humongous, the largest space I've been in. There was also a national pawn shop, as large as a department store with multiple floors. If you like history, there's Chapultepec Castle. I remember an exhibit about their elaborate caste system.
There are many art museums, some entirely dedicated to artists like Tamayo, Rivera, and others. Be sure to catch some of their murals on city buildings. The Museo de Arte Popular has folk art. There's often folk music and dancing at Belles Artes.
Although the Zona Rosa was hit badly by an earthquake since I was there last, it was a very hip area to visit with good restaurants.
