Last summer I was going to try these two and life intervened and the squash were sacrificed at the altar of neglect. Has anyone tried these two and were they decent? I'm not going to tend them they have to be easy enough for a well-meaning plant killer. Any and all opinions on magda or paypaya pear are welcome. Thank you.

Have never yet grown them, though they are on the list for this year. Last year I did buy some Papaya pear squash from another market vendor who is also a friend and who said I should try them. I was very impressed by the flavor, particularly for a summer squash. Obviously similar to the more common and possibly reliable yellow crook neck, but the taste was sweeter and the texture firmer. I really enjoyed it and if things go well this year I could see this becoming my standard bearer.
Time will tell!
