I'm in search of Darlaine Pea seed, a short, yellow soup variety. I did find a listing on Backyard Beans and Grain's site, but their site doesn't work when I hit the "add to cart" button. Does anyone know of any other sources for this or a similar yellow soup pea?

Does anyone know of any other sources for this or a similar yellow soup pea? Try Dan Jason - www.seeds.ca/bauta/seedfinder.php?sod_k=Com&sod_s=226&sod_r=&sod_o=&sod_pcv=Darlaine. His catalogue isn't showing them right now but I know he always has things that he isn't selling in a given year.

BBG cart worked OK for me when I tested it but some pictures are slow to load. Perhaps try a different browser? Looking forward to seeing their 2016 listing.

She said she's tested it and it seems to be working, so it should be good to order. If it isn't, post again here and I'll let her know

Walk, if you have not found Darlaine yet, it is being offered this year by an SSE member from Alberta. It seems all roads to this variety lead North.

Walk, if you have not found Darlaine yet, it is being offered this year by an SSE member from Alberta. It seems all roads to this variety lead North. I ended up getting Nette yellow peas from Albert Lea Seeds - a 50# bag of organic seed was only $27. Also got Streaker Hulless Oats and Buckwheat from them. I'll be using most of the seed for green manures and some planted to harvest. I've been using organic seed buckwheat for making flour as it's hard to find it for sale in the whole grain form. The hulls split off easily when grinding and can be sifted out. Some of the peas will be grown for sprouts for winter chicken feed. I plan on eating the dry pea harvest from a small patch grown out for the humans in the household. The plan for green manures includes oats and peas seeded early in the cucurbit beds, then chopped down before planting the crop. Likewise with the sweet corn beds which get seeded late in June.
