I am in the process of completing my "texas prepper" style hoop house. I used 6 mil greenhouse plastic. What is the timeline for starting seeds outdoors? I plan on using a space heater to keep it above freezing. I usually start mine indoors with fluorescence 6 wks prior to June 1stish... but it takes a while to harden them off and the pain of jockeying a bunch of flats outside/inside.
Thanks for the help!!

Where is you? it matters. This year more than others. I would have mine sown by now in central NH. I might have sown peppers in Jan.

The whole issue of when to start transplants is becoming fraught. When things were normal (the good ol' reliable days) I'd have been months off what now seems sensible. I think we must all take our shots as best they appear, if we are to succeed in these changing times. Doubtless, we will suffer many failures, but that will be not different than in our past, only in the probable frequency of them (pretty damned frequent, it looks); we must persevere, if we are not to delegate our role to lesser species than our own.
