I have been attempting to grow grapes for several years. I currently have Frontenac hybrid wine grapes planted, after removing the Concords that were running rampant over my trellises. My problem is that wasps (mostly yellow jackets) always get them just before they are ready to harvest. Any suggestions for eliminating this problem? I have not been able to locate the nest.

That's a tough one. Plant a big patch of dill or some other umbellifer nearby, timed to be in bloom when the grapes are ready, as a distraction? Umbellifera blooms always seem to be a big attraction for my wasp population.

I have Queen Anne's lace growing all around me that doesn't seem attract the wasps enough to save my grapes. I have tried traps and they don't put a dent in the wasp population! It is about the season for the wasps to get into the grapes. We'll see what happens this year!
