Tears of joy and relief-we actually got our country back .

(Standing on soap box )- if some of you could only see, pictures of the older men and women openly weeping with tears of joy and relief that with the Brexit vote we over here in the uk actually got our country back again, more than one million votes more than the other side, the British people always rise to the challenge and stick their fingers up at anyone from any country who wants to change the way we live and take away all our freedom-rubbish our laws- make the country almost bankrupt,force us to comply with strange and weird ideas, fill all our houses,schools, and hospitals to overflowing, it is pitiful to see grown men and women weeping with tears of joy that they actually got our country back again, it may well take a month or two to straighten the country up again-but we shall prevail and rise like a phoenix out of the flames and ashes and once again be a great country, it may well be hard for the first month or two before we begin to feel any benefit-but it will well be worth it in the end-

I mean, it is really coming to something when if you are sick with any form of medical issues you will take up to three weeks before you can actually get a doctors appointment to see a doctor, also any older children you might have in your family who want find a house of their own and get married etc,just cannot do so because there are hundreds of people there before them taking all the housing and swamping over everything and taking over everything that is important to our way of life, our younger children cannot secure a place in their chosen school even out of the first six choices as they are hopelessly over subscribed by a hundredfold so their future was getting ruined by the day and hour and would be lucky if they managed to get a school ten to twenty miles away, the prisons are full to breaking point with many more criminals than ever before,murders,killings and common assaults have gone up a hundredfold with hoards of these dangerous people roaming our streets, you just didn't feel safe anymore.

But now maybe things will change now that we got our country back again and maybe our sanity and peace of mind too. god save the brexit people who made all this possible -they deserve a medal and a knighthood.

Personally I'm a little disappointed - the global turmoil will probably play havoc with my retirement income, but it's your country, go for it.
I suspect it won't be quite as dire as the stayers predict, nor as rosy as the leavers hope.

Interestingly, many of the problems you cite seem to be universal - housing affordability, hospital waiting lists, quality of schooling, overflowing prisons, increasing divide between the rich overclass and the rest of us. From the safety of 20000km, I suspect you might find it's actually globalisation, free-marketnomics, and new right agendas that seem to have swamped the world over the last couple of decades, rather than Europe, but what would a convict know - and don't mention the rugby...
I'll be interested in how the Windsors go over the next few years, and the Scots...

Good luck Britain! In some years we will see if immigrants and Brussel as a kind of foreign power or the british (neo liberal) politics were the reason for all this.
My guess is the letter one, but it is just my guess...
If politicians had the balls they can change a lot also within the EU. unfortunately no politicians has the will to change something neither in the UK nor in Germany (in special).

It remains to be seen how Scots and Northern Irish react to this.

I wonder whether they have enough shared interests to kiss off the UK and form a Gaelic United Republic (GUR), which could re-join the EU.

Well we had a general election on Saturday - intriguing stuff and addictive for political junkies like me. Our system is a bit different to US and UK. Only half of our 'house of review' (senate) has to face the electorate at most elections, unless there is a special 'double dissolution' called to break an impasse, when there is a general spill and everyone goes to the people. Our incumbents were hoping for a fresh start, clear out the minor parties and independents - instead they've got an even wilder mix of minor parties and single issue members they now have to deal with - described by one pundit as 'like bar scene from star wars' - Interesting times.
