I'm new, and I just found this site when it was mentioned on another board. I grow spuds, daylilies, fruit, nuts and assorted vegies. I like growing from seed, as you don't know what you are going to get, and I like surprises.

Welcome! How did you manage with the rains from TS Matthew? I understand parts of Cape Breton had a lot of flooding.

Not that bad, Cape Breton got most of it. The storm was east of us, so we got a good soaking, but nothing too bad. I was worried about wind bringing down my hand pollinated nuts, but they held on and will be viable quite soon. BC1 chestnuts, I hope. (backcrossed from Chinese to American, twice.) Burs keep opening with blank nuts, but some are large and green, so I may actually get a few.
