Around here, in earthquake country, we typically put a lip around the shelves, to attempt to keep the bottles on the shelf during quakes.

I used to make fun of my dad for building things so elephants could dance on em. I managed to inherit that trait, real pain when I decide to change or move something.

Impressive interior decorating. I also feel all warm inside at the sight of a stockpile of food; it's a pleasure to know that if one can't get around, one still has chow at hand.
Build it right=build it once; I think this rule comes into sharper focus as one comes to realize that one may lack the resources to do things over and one is only going to move away one more time.
