You have to wonder where people's heads are, sometimes.
Plants are only valued if you have to work at growing them it seems. Aronia is identified as being so easy to grow that it's invasive and either banned or strongly discouraged in various provinces but it's supposed to be exceedingly health promoting, one outfit in Ontario was selling the juice for something absurd like $20 for a soda pop sized bottle, not the 2litre sized ones either. And the latest "thing" is purslane, most people around here screech and reach for the chemical destroyer, while other people are paying to buy seed..

Hardy kiwi should grow well here but I just can't get them to take, even in cool, shaded positions. I wish it were a weed of sorts- it is delicious.

Yes, pretty much all Actinidia species are permitted entry into Oz. Just the usual requirements of clean seed and botanical name on packet.

If memory serves (hah!; could happen), there was a large, long-established, covered path-way/drive in Virginia (maybe), which was eventually recognized to be hardy kiwi; somehow people never figured it out.
