I was given a packet of seed of Allium 'Guardsman'. According to the packet, this is A. Fistulosum x Cepa.
Does anyone know if this is accurate? I was under the impression that cepa x fistulosum will produce walking onions/ top setting onions. If I grew these on to maturity, would they make topsets? Or, if seed was saved and replanted, would that generation perhaps produce some percentage of topsetting type?
