I was reading through forums, quite an old one I must admit but it had mentioned that folks here would be okay with sharing some seeds to someone whos mostly beginning gardening, is this the right place to ask if so, if not I'm sorry for causing any trouble at all.

Yes, we share seeds, but usually ones that are not easily available.
It can be expensive. The last packet of seeds I mailed to someone cost me $12, as Canadian postage is high.
It also helps to know where you live as some countries have import restrictions.
What kinds of seeds are you looking for?

I'm really looking for anything of common nature or otherwise I'd really like to get into growing and seed swapping myself so ultimately anything I can harvest seeds from to attempt swapping as well, I'm in the USA Maryland.

Take a look at my trade list. (There's a link in my signature.) It's out of date, but I still have most of that stuff. Also turnip seeds, pending a successful germination test. I don't mind sending some stuff. Post here what you'd like, or message me. I also have a suggestion or two re: getting a few free seeds and another forum all about seed trading, if you're interested.

I'd suggest joining gardenweb. They're all about seed trading so asking for donations in frowned upon in most of the site. But everyone has to start somewhere, so val runs the NEWBIE SEED PROJECT. She starts a new thread each month, and I don't see one for June, so she could be out of seeds. You could message her and ask. Also, her threads always have instructions for newbies learning the ropes right at the beginning. And watch for her to open up the offer when she has the seeds. forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/4639235/newbie-seed-project-may-2017leila hamaya runs the adopt a newbie program. She has instructions right up front, too. Once you're all set up, your username goes on a list, with your state and zone, and specifics you provide about your favorites or what type of garden you'd like to grow. Then people with extra seed peruse the list and adopt someone who could use their extras. forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/3352824/adopt-a-newbie-ongoing-list-6Or just get hold of some seeds and start trading. Both this forum and gardenweb have all kinds of folks with all kinds of interests, so you may have access to seeds they think are pretty cool. Local trees and flowers. Maybe something that volunteered in your garden or compost. Something donated to you from here or gardenweb. Or just go to walmart or the dollar store and pick up whatever is cheap, keep a few if you want, and offer the rest to trade.

I've actually managed to find some yellow wood sorrel I'm currently collecting I'll also update once the seeds you've sent arrive.
