Wow its been ages since I have posted or ben in here..well after almost 25 years I have recived some of the hardest to fibd squash you can get, let me explain a bit..There was a guy who went on the Martha Stewart show called Mac, he also owns a seed company called the 200 acres...well..I kept seeing this Windsor Black and tried to get him to give me some seeds for trade I have the rare and very hard to get Black Hopi which many folks though was actually Musquee Du Province and I can assure you all they are not at all alike I have grown both {In seperate fields} they mature at toally different times anyway..so I have a forum on Face Book called PKS North and South for folks who breed all kinds of veggies..I met a guy named Dave Minor there who is a true pepper Guru..he wanted to start growing some cool dwarf tomatoes so I hooked him up with some of my crosses and he in turn got me these seeds out of Australia..somehow..LEGALLY...I have 20 Seeds of not only Windsor Black but also IronBark and the super hard to get Blue Australlian Pumpkin not to be confused with anything we already have here in the states it is a very rare and different animal..also this year I was fortunate enough to get a hold of Baker Creeks New Moschata Musquee De Moroc...I bought just about every Moschata I could get my hands on we have the vine borer here as well but some year they dont show up, I also spray the base of all my Maximas every week with BT..I havent had any borer problems and this is due to that I am sure of it.
I will keep My Black Hopi seperate and bagged because the lady I got them from No longer is growing them she was another member on here Cheryl. So as far as I am aware I have some of the only seeds for this one and the bad part of this was I had a horrible season for squash but managed to get some seeds from the black hopi stunted fruits because all of them got powdery Mildew and from what I understand many folks had this exact problem this year..I also grew some of Josephs Mospermia crosses and got some super awesome Variegated plants but...no fruit survived.
Joseph has some very exciting things going on squash wise and I am getting some nice things from him I am going to make some landraces with all the various Moschatas I have and I havea n almost stable pie squash Inamed after 2 of the best chefs I sell to. So this should be a god year unless we have a repeat of last summer wiht the cold nights and mega rain.
